چکیده

This paper presents the design analysis of five vertical shielded microstrip lines. The vertical microstrip transition solves the problem of discontinuity between two microstrip lines in different layers of microwave circuit. The main objective of this paper is to compute the capacitance and other relevant parameters like potential distributions of five shielded vertical microstrip line by using finite element technique. the computational and simulation work is carried out with the help of FEM based COMSOL multiphysics software. it has been used in a wide variety of problems like modeling wave guide and transmission lines, cavities etc. To improve the design further, adaptive mesh technique is applied to obtain more accurate result.

Analysis of Planar Microstrip Circuits Using Three-Dimensional Transmission Line Matrix Method

The frequency-dependent characteristics of microstrip planar circuits have been previously analyzed using several full-wave approaches. All those methods directly give characteristic of the circuits frequency by frequency. Computation time becomes important if these planar circuits have to be studied over a very large bandwidth. The transmission line matrix (TLM) method presented in this paper ...

Nonsingular Green’s Functions for Multi-Layer Homogeneous Microstrip Lines

In this article, three new green's functions are presented for a narrow strip line (not a thin wire) inside or on a homogeneous dielectric, supposing quasi-TEM dominant mode. These functions have no singularity in contrast to so far presented ones, so that they can be used easily to determine the capacitance matrix of multi-layer and single-layer homogeneous coupled microstrip lines. To obtain ...

Fast Finite Element Method Using Multi-Step Mesh Process

This paper introduces a new method for accelerating current sluggish FEM and improving memory demand in FEM problems with high node resolution or bulky structures. Like most of the numerical methods, FEM results to a matrix equation which normally has huge dimension. Breaking the main matrix equation into several smaller size matrices, the solving procedure can be accelerated. For implementing ...

Modeling of capacitance and sensitivity of a MEMS pressure sensor

In this paper modeling of capacitance and sensitivity for MEMS capacitive pressure sensor is presented. In capacitive sensor the sensitivity is proportional to deflection and capacitance changes versus pressure. Therefore first the diaphragm displacement, capacitance and sensitivity of sensor with square diaphragm have been modeled and then simulated using finite element method (FEM).  It can b...

Microstrip Quasi-TEM Resonator for Magnetic Resonance Imaging at High Field of 8T

In this work, we used the finite element method (FEM) and the multiconductor transmission lines (MTL) method for designing an UHF magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) probe. This radio frequency (RF) volume coil quasi-transverse electromagnetic (quasi-TEM) type, based on the use of 16 microstrip transmission line elements has been developed for in vivo hydrogen magnetic resonance (HMR) application ...
